I-95 in Peabody seeing delays after tractor trailer crash

A crash involving a tractor trailer has forced the closure of all but the breakdown lane on Interstate 95 in Peabody during the Wednesday commute around 6:36 a.m., officials said.

MassDOT spokesman Patrick Marvin tweeted about the crash, warning drivers to consider alterantive routes.

“All lanes closed on I-95 north in Peabody and only the breakdown lane is open for travel due to a tractor trailer crash,’’’ he tweeted around 6:30 a.m. “Drivers advised by @MassDOT to seek alternate routes and expect delays.’’

One southbound lane was closed around 6:38 a.m., officials said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

It was not immediately known if the were injuries.
