There’s a new solution for your frustration with Boston traffic: Skip the driving and hop.
That was what one rabbit tried Wednesday night on the Zakim Bridge as a State Police trooper chased after it.
A video, shared on Twitter by State Police Trooper Dustin Fitch, a department spokesman, shows one trooper grab a cardboard box from his trunk and walk over to the rabbit, which is sitting near the median.
But getting the rabbit inside the box wasn’t an easy task.
The rabbit hopped away, leading the trooper on a wild goose — er, rabbit — chase down the shoulder of the road. It ultimately took the help of a second trooper, with a second box, to capture the rabbit.
And before Fitch posted the surveillance of the chase, the video was even paired with a soundtrack: the 1950s’ classic, “Yakety Sax,’’ by Randy Randolph.
“Troopers caught this wascally wabbit on the Zakim Bridge tonight! Nice work,’’ Fitch wrote in his tweet, channeling his inner Bugs Bunny. “What’s up doc……’’
