Body of woman discovered on Revere Beach

The body of a woman was discovered on the Revere Beach shoreline early Thursday, State Police said.

The death is now under investigation by State Police and Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office. Authorities did not have an estimate on the person’s age immediately available.

The body was spotted by passersby around 5:57 a.m. on the beach near the intersection of Shirley Avenue and Revere beach Boulevard, State Police spokesman David Procopio wrote in an e-mail Thursday.

“The body is believed to be that of a female,’’ Procopio wrote. “The investigation into the identity of the deceased and facts and circumstances of the death is ongoing.’’
