A man was found bound on the side of a Reading road

A Lawrence man was found bound with duct tape Sunday evening on the side of the road in the area of North Main and Short streets in Reading, according to a police statement.

Police responded to a report about the man around 8:19 p.m. A preliminary investigation found that he had been assaulted before he was bound, police said. The man told police he believed there had been three male attackers.

Law enforcement does not believe the incident was random, and their investigation continues.

The department has asked residents who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between 5 and 8 p.m. on Sunday to call Detective Derek Holmes at 781-942-6772.
