Flash flooding traps vehicles on the North Shore
Heavy rain early Saturday morning caused flash flooding on the North Shore, where water reached car bumpers and halted traffic in some areas.
The National Weather Service reported that vehicles were stuck in the flood waters in Lynn and warned residents not to attempt to drive through them.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Alan Dunham, the service received reports of flash flooding in Winthrop, Revere, and Chelsea as well.

Dunham said the heaviest rain is over, but a chance of showers and thunderstorms lingers into Saturday afternoon.
