This Storrowing resulted in an arrest

Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

A truck carrying a portable storage unit tried to take Storrow Drive under the BU Bridge Thursday afternoon.

It didn’t make it.

The resulting crash destroyed the truck’s POD container, hit another car with debris, and diverted traffic on Storrow Drive westbound for roughly 90 minutes, according to state police. There were no injuries.

Trooper Paul Sullivan said the driver, 22-year-old Bridgewater resident Patricio Britobaros, was arrested for driving on a revoked license and given a citation for taking an over-height vehicle on the infamously treacherous parkway.

Britobaros’s 2018 Freightliner scraped the low-clearance bridge at about 1:03 p.m., causing heavy damage to the POD container and spilling unit’s contents and debris across the westbound lanes, Sullivan said.

Debris from the collision also hit a car being driven in the opposite direction by a 74-year-old man from Stow, damaging the windshield of his 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan.

The scene was cleared at approximately 2:41 p.m., according to Sullivan, but not before causing significant delays for westbound drivers.

It’s the second time in less than two weeks a truck has gotten Storrowed, as it is known.
