Red Line and Orange Line delays continued Tuesday morning
Some commuters on the the MBTA’s Red Line and Orange Line were once again delayed Tuesday morning.
The T reported “minor delays” on the Red Line at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday due to a signal failure at Somerville’s Davis station. The Davis Square station also experienced signal problems on Monday.
Following a report of “minor delays” on the Orange Line at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, the MBTA posted an alert for “moderate delays” at 8:43 a.m., citing a disabled southbound train at Community College. A train was disabled at the same Charlestown station Monday afternoon.
In an email, MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo said that Tuesday morning’s disabled train at Community College was removed from service because of a “mechanical problem,” and that “the cause remains under investigation.”
Commuters took to Twitter to express their dismay over the delays:
Mon pm: disabled train at Comm College.
Tues am: disabled train at Comm College.
Is this @MBTA‘s version of Groundhog Day? #orangeline
