This humorous take on Bostonians is making the rounds on social media
An amusing piece that imagines two Bostonians talking about institutions like the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Museum of Science as if they were the Red Sox and Pats is getting widely shared on social media.
Michael Hare’s post for McSweeney’s humor website titled, “If Bostonians Loved Other Local Institutions The Way They Love Their Local Sports Franchises,” was all over local Twitter and Facebook after it was published Tuesday.
Here’s how it begins:
— Hear that new one from the BSO?
— Shit, yeah, that Brahms? That one knocked me square on my ass. Even more so than the Shostakovich. Pardon me, the Grammy Award-winning Shostakovich.
(They toast.)
And a later section on the Museum of Science:
— Other day I went over to the Museum of Science.
— How was it?
— Well it was the f****** Museum of Science, so how the f*** do you think it was? It was superlative. It was a testament to our region’s proud tradition of rational inquiry.
(They toast.)
