Chocolate lab carried down New Hampshire mountain by rescue volunteers
FRANCONIA, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire search and rescue team had to save a Labrador retriever from the trails of Mt. Lafayette over the weekend.
The 110-pound chocolate lab was carried off the trail Sunday in Franconia by a group of volunteers with the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team. WMUR-TV reports that another dog was carried off the trail on its owner’s shoulders on Saturday.
The search team said in a Facebook posting that when a dog’s paws get torn up from walking on granite, they’ll sit down and refuse to move.

The dog is being treated at a veterinary hospital in Concord and is expected to make a full recovery.
