10-year-old Maine boy selling lemonade to help hurricane victims

BANGOR, Maine (AP) — A 10-year-old resident in Maine is doing his part to help people impacted by hurricanes Harvey and Irma — raising money for the American Red Cross through his lemonade stand.

Dillon Whitney ran a lemonade stand over the weekend at the Clinton Lions Agricultural Fair. The Morning Sentinel reports Dillon donated all of his proceeds to the Red Cross in Bangor Monday afternoon.

Dillon set up his stand in front of his grandmother’s business at the fair and sold a variety of homemade treats, including lemonade, fudge and cookies.

Dillon says he’s been hosting fundraisers for about four years, and says plans to continue raising money as he grows older.
