New Hampshire man sentenced for slashing ex-girlfriend’s throat
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for slashing his ex-girlfriend’s throat.
WMUR-TV reports 33-year-old Carlos Albarran was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree assault on Thursday.
Prosecutors say Albarran had arranged to meet with his ex-girlfriend in Nashua earlier this year in order to drop off some belongings. Authorities say he slashed the woman’s throat with a knife while she sat in the passenger seat of a car, dropped the weapon and fled the scene.
The victim, whose name has been withheld, says she is permanently scarred and must undergo more surgeries.
Albarran apologized for his actions.
