Police make an arrest after string of South Boston break-ins

Boston police arrested a 29-year-old man Thursday night in connection to a series of recent break-ins in South Boston.

Michael Hazel, of Fall River, allegedly entered or attempted to enter five residences through open windows in the early morning hours of Tuesday and Wednesday.

At about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call to remove a male and female sleeping in a hallway in the area of 177 West 9th St. Detectives then notified the officers that the male was a possible suspect in the break-ins and had a warrant out for his arrest from Fall River. Hazel was wearing the same clothes as the suspect in surveillance video, police said.
