Ari Schultz’s family will be holding a family-friendly event to celebrate his life Saturday, August 19, in Stow.

Ari, the 5-year-old Red Sox fan and heart-transplant recipient who inspired thousands through his resilience, died July 21. His parents maintained a blog chronicling his life and several YouTube videos of their son went viral.

The event, Ari “Danger” Day, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. at Pine Bluff Recreational Area, will feature outdoor activities, including volleyball and swimming, live music, and a catered barbecue.
