State police seek criminal complaints against 7 teenagers in Quincy pier attack
State police sought criminal complaints Wednesday against seven male teenagers who allegedly attacked a group of five teenagers July 31 on a pier at Quincy’s Squantum Point Park, according to a release.The Boston Globe reported earlier this month that a video of the attack had been circulating on social media.The group of seven teenagers prevented the victims from leaving the pier before tackling, punching, and kicking them, police said. Each alleged assailant, ranging from 14 to 17 years old, is charged with 18 separate counts of offenses, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, assault, and kidnapping, according to police. The victims were between 14 and 16 years old.
Police said the investigation into the incident remains open.
