Lynn man faces charge for allegedly stealing eggs from 3-year-old girl

A 35-year-old Lynn man accused of robbing a three-year-old girl’s roadside egg stand in Rowley will be brought before a judge, Rowley police said.

The man allegedly stole four dozen eggs, plus a small amount of cash, from the stand the little girl ran with her mother on Central Street, police said.

The man, who was not identified, allegedly stole the eggs and money on July 7. But he was not identified until Wednesday, police said.

He faces a charge of larceny under $250, the release stated.

Rowley Police Chief Scott A. Dumas called the alleged theft “ . . . an extremely shameful act exacerbated by the fact that victim was a child.’’
