Rhode Island private school investigating 1970s sex assault allegations
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A private, co-ed school in Rhode Island says it is investigating allegations of sexual assault that involve several students and a faculty member in the 1970s.
The Gordon School says no current administrator, faculty or staff member was employed at the school during that time.
The East Providence school didn’t provide further details on the allegations. Head of School Ralph Wales says law enforcement has been informed.
The Gordon School was founded in 1910 and teaches nursery through eighth grade. Tuition at the school can cost more $32,000.
