Sang Yook, of New Jersey, told state police he had been doing 75 miles an hour on June 6 in Sidney when the vehicle appeared behind him. State police caught him on radar driving nearly twice the 70-mile-an-hour speed limit.
They said Yook’s BMW slowed rapidly upon seeing a cruiser, and pulled over. Police said the 65-year-old Yook got out of his car to ask for a break and refused to get back inside.
Police said Yook, jailed after he couldn’t make bail, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined $300.
Yook didn’t immediately return a message left on his New Jersey phone number Thursday.
