Eight arrested at Revere Beach as police deal with ‘large, unruly crowd’

Eight people were arrested at Revere Beach Monday night as authorities worked to quell “a large, unruly crowd’’ from the bandstand area, State Police said.

David Procopio, a State Police spokesman, said Revere Beach Boulevard was temporarily closed to traffic as police cleared the disorderly crowd from the beach.

Many in the crowd boarded the subway and left the area. No injuries were reported.

Five adults and three juveniles were arrested on charges that included assault and battery, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and trespassing.

“Most, if not all, will likely be released on minimal bail,’’ Procopio wrote. “They will eventually appear in Chelsea District Court for arraignment.’’
