‘We will step up patrols, but there is no threat to the city of Boston,’ Evans says
Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans said police will increase their patrols around concert venues and at the Boston Calling festival, set for Memorial Day weekend, in response to the terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert in England.
“It’s sad,’’ Evans said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “Just when you think things are getting safe and secure, we are reminded that terrorism is a real life, day-to-day thing that we have to worry about.’’
He added: “It’s pretty sad that someone would blow up a venue with young children. It just points out how treacherous these people can be.”
