Police investigate hit-and-run death of teen motorcyclist

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police say they have located the minivan they think struck and dragged an 18-year-old motorcyclist to his death.

The Dodge minivan was located Sunday, but police did not say where it was found and have not announced any arrests.

Police say 18-year-old Christopher Lucero was riding a motorcycle in the city’s Olneyville neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a van and dragged several blocks.

Lucero died of his injuries.

Friends say Lucero graduated from Central High School in the city last year.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
