Prison where Hernandez died still on lockdown

For the third straight day, the state’s maximum security prison was in lockdown Wednesday as authorities searched the complex for contraband as part of an investigation triggered by the apparent suicide of former New England Patriot Aaron J. Hernandez.

While Hernandez killed himself in the G-2 unit in the prison inside his single-person cell on April 19, the entire prison has been in lockdown since Monday, meaning none of the inmates are allowed out of their cells except in limited circumstances, according to the Department of Correction.
