9-year-old boy struck by baseball showing hopeful signs of recovery
A 9-year-old Waltham boy whose heart stopped after he was hit with a baseball remained in a medically induced coma Monday but is showing positive signs of recovery, a relative said.
On Sunday afternoon, Eddie Quinn was playing baseball with his stepfather, Thomas Hickey, at Ryan Playground in Charlestown, when he was hit in the chest by a drive off Hickey’s bat. Hickey performed CPR on Eddie until paramedics arrived, he said.
