The St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston won’t follow its usual route Sunday but will instead proceed along a shorter path due to weather conditions, the City of Boston said Friday.City crews are still cleaning up from Tuesday’s nor’easter, and Boston could see between two and three inches of snow on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Instead of its traditional three-mile route, the parade will start at 1 p.m. on West Broadway at Dorchester Avenue and move toward East Broadway and end on Farragut Road.

City crews, which have been working on snow cleanup since Tuesday, will continue to clear the white stuff along parade area, Boston Public Works Deputy Commissioner Mike Brohel told the Boston Herald.

The streets along the route will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be street closures and detours for the South Boston Boys and Girls Club Road Race, which begins at 11 a.m on West Sixth Street.

City officials are encouraging attendees to use public transportation to get to the neighborhood, rather than drive. A complete list of street closures and parking restrictions is available here.
