Pedestrian struck, killed on Southeast Expressway

State Police reopened all the lanes on the Southeast Expressway around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, ending a closure that began when a pedestrian was struck and killed in the northbound lanes in Dorchester.

The pedestrian was struck around 5:25 a.m., and the reason the person was on the major highway was not immediately known, State Police spokesman David Procopio wrote in an e-mail.
