Infant found not breathing at Warwick home, dies at hospital

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Authorities say a 7-month-old girl found unresponsive at a Warwick home has died.

Police say emergency responders arrived at the home around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and found the infant wasn’t breathing. She was declared dead at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

The girl’s father was conscious and alert when officers arrived. He has also been hospitalized for a medical issue.

Authorities say the father and infant were the only people home at the time. Police searched the home late Tuesday.
