Bermuda’s ex-premier calls claims Lahey bribed him a ‘litany of lies’
Bermuda’s former premier, accused in a federal lawsuit of accepting bribes from the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center as part of a racketeering conspiracy that spanned two decades, lashed out Thursday at the government he once led, calling its allegations “a litany of lies.”
In his first remarks since Bermuda’s government filed a civil action against the Burlington hospital Tuesday, Dr. Ewart Brown denounced the lawsuit as politically motivated and said it contained “countless lies and ridiculous allegations.”
