Heaviest part of the storm whips through Mass.

The National Weather Service Thursday afternoon expanded a blizzard warning to include areas further inland on the South Shore and in Southeastern Massachusetts as heavy snow fell and winds whipped the state.

The new areas reach down to New Bedford and west of Plymouth. The forecasters warned people there not to drive, saying that visibility will be reduced by blowing snow. Temperatures will also drop, ultimately heading toward single digits, pushing wind chills well below zero later Thursday.
