Harvard medical students, doctors urge cancellation of fund-raiser at Mar-a-Lago

Hundreds of medical students and doctors from Harvard Medical School are urging Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to cancel a lavish fundraising event scheduled for Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida.

The group sent an e-mail Sunday to Dana-Farber President Dr. Laurie Glimcher, saying that the President’s immigration ban on seven majority-Muslim countries threatens the medical school’s ability to provide care to patients, educate students, and pursue research. Two medical researchers headed for Brigham and Women’s Hospital were barred from entering the country after the ban went into effect.
