Silent vigil to take place at New Hampshire Statehouse during inauguration
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Several groups concerned about a rising tide of intolerance and violence are going to conduct a silent vigil in front of the New Hampshire Statehouse during President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The Silent Vigil of Hope and Concern is scheduled to take place at noon Friday.
The Rev. Gray Fitzgerald, of Concord, says the groups are joining together to reaffirm their commitment to multiculturalism, human rights, the inclusion of all people, and an economic system that works for all.
The vigil is sponsored by the Justice and Witness Ministries of the United Church of Christ NH Conference; the American Friends Service Committee; Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service; NH Peace Action; and the Equality Center.
