Authorities used a helicopter equipped with infrared technology to locate an alleged drunk driver who fled into the woods following a single-vehicle crash in Wareham Saturday, according to State Police.
On Dec. 31, John Layton, 45, of Boston, was arrested and charged with several offenses, including operating under the influence of alcohol — a fifth offense — operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, and driving an uninsured and unregistered car, after police said he ditched a vehicle on the side of the road.
