No new sightings of ‘aggressive coyote’ in Brookline
The day after an “aggressive coyote” charged at an officer in Brookline, the animal has not been spotted again, officials said.
Brookline Police initially alerted residents to the animal early Friday afternoon when the department tweeted that the coyote had been spotted near Stearns Road at around 11:30 a.m., and that it charged at a detail officer at the corner of Park and Washington streets.
“AVOID IF SEEN,” police wrote.

The Massachusetts Environmental Police responded and searched for the coyote from about 1:30 to 3:45 p.m. Friday, said Katie Gronendyke, a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
Brookline Police Department Lt. Philip Harrington said there were no sightings of the coyote Saturday morning or early afternoon.
Gronendyke said the current condition of the coyote is unknown.
