Boston firefighters put out raging six-alarm fire in Charlestown
A six-alarm fire broke out early Friday in Charlestown, displacing 25 people and destroying a laundromat considered a landmark in the Monument Square area.
The fire was discovered around 6:45 a.m. in a building with six residential units on the upper floors and the Monument Laundromat on the ground floor a neighborhood institution that appeared in scenes from Ben Affleck’s 2010 movie, “The Town.’’
