Man seriously injured after falling out of tree in West Newbury
A man was seriously injured after falling out of a tree Thursday afternoon in the Crane Pond Wildlife Management Area in West Newbury, the fire department said in a statement.Around 3:28 p.m., the fire department received a 911 call reporting that a hunter had fallen about 20 feet out of a tree located approximately 150 yards off Ash Street, in an area designated as hunting grounds.Firefighters found a 55-year-old West Newbury man at the scene, according to the statement. He was conscious and alert, and was taken to Tufts Medical Center by medical helicopter for treatment of serious injuries, the department said.
