Boston Winter, the new holiday-themed outdoor space at City Hall Plaza featuring a custom-designed outdoor skating path, a European-style holiday shopping market, and 50 other activities, was scheduled to open at 3 p.m. on Friday. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit too warm.Less than an hour before Boston Winter was scheduled to open, Mayor Marty Walsh announced on Twitter that warm weather had melted the ice on the skating path, delaying the grand opening. (He also concluded the tweet with a Trump-esque “Sad!”)

The grand opening has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 7 at 4:30 p.m., according to City Hall Plaza’s website
