1 dead, 2 injured in Boston crash
One man was killed and two other people injured in a crash in Boston early Sunday morning, state police said in a statement.Around 12:40 a.m., troopers responded to Interstate 93 north near Exit 14 for reports of a crash in which a vehicle went over the guardrail.A 2014 Volvo S60 left the roadway and went over the guardrail, becoming airborne and rolling over before hitting a 2016 Honda HRV traveling inbound on Morrissey Boulevard, according to police. The Volvo came to a stop on Morrissey Boulevard.Police said the Volvo’s operator, 50-year-old Daniel P. Lee, of Chatham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger of the Honda, 21-year-old Nurys N. Castillo and a 24-year-old man, respectively, both from Dorchester, were taken to Boston Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to the statement. Morrissey Boulevard northbound was closed until about 4:57 a.m. as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation, according to police.
