National Weather Service: Drivers should ‘use extra caution’ Monday during wind advisory

The National Weather Service warns drivers that high winds may make roads difficult to navigate on Monday.

Weather officials have issued a wind advisory for southern New England, in effect until 10 p.m. This comes after parts of New England experienced about a foot of snow on Sunday.

Sustained winds of 31 to 39 miles per hour are expected, with wind gusts between 46 and 57 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Taunton. New Englanders could experience power outages from the wind, officials said, and there’s a possibility of downed tree limbs.

“Use extra caution,” warned weather officials.
