Two police officers injured during Boston Common arrest
Two Boston police officers were injured while arresting a Connecticut man on Boston Common on Friday, police said.
Joseph Demaio II, 31, of New Haven, Conn., was allegedly smoking near Tremont and Park streets around 5:39 p.m. on Friday, in violation of a ban on smoking in city-run parks, when two officers on patrol spotted him, the Boston Police website said. While speaking to Demaio, the officers discovered he was wanted for a parole violation by the Connecticut Department of Correction.
