Burlington police looking for man they say passed counterfeit bills

Burlington police have arrested three men and are searching for another who fled on foot after the men allegedly passed counterfeit money at two separate retail locations on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a report of two men trying to buy items at Bed Bath & Beyond with a fake $100 bill just before 2:30 p.m. When an employee confronted the men, they fled the scene before officers arrived.

Shortly after, just before 3 p.m., police received another report of two men trying to use a fake $100 bill at The Paper Store, which is about a block away from Bed Bath & Beyond.

Officers went to the store and confronted all four suspects. Police arrested three of the men and are looking for the fourth, who fled on foot. Police from Burlington and surrounding areas are searching for the man using the Burlington Police K-9 unit.
