66-year-old seriously injured after being dragged by car in Worcester
A 66-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday when police say he was dragged almost 100 feet by a car in Worcester. Worcester police said the incident occurred around 12:48 p.m. at the corner of Sycamore and Beacon streets. Investigators believe the man was leaning into the vehicle, speaking with its occupants when the driver drove off quickly. The man was still halfway inside the vehicle and was dragged for between 90 and 100 feet, according to police. Police said the car — believed to be an older model blue or gray Honda Odyssey — never stopped and was not at the scene when responding officers arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a serious chest injury. Police said investigators have not been able to interview him due to injuries and that his current condition is unknown. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone information about the incident to contact detectives at 508-799-8651.
