One person killed in Roxbury fire
A fire that swept through a Roxbury home Saturday morning has left one person dead and a man badly burned just days after inspectors condemned the property and neighbors complained about the residence during a meeting with city officials.
Steven MacDonald, spokesman for the Boston Fire Department, confirmed the fatality Saturday afternoon, hours after flames erupted at 94 George St. at about 8:39 a.m. Also injured in the blaze was a man found suffering from burns outside the residence, he said. The man was taken to a local hospital.
