Driver in Quincy school bus crash cited for negligent operation

The school bus driver involved a crash last week that ended with the bus hitting a Quincy home has been cited for negligent operation and marked lanes violations. Quincy police said Mark Woods faces a criminal penalty of up to two years in jail if found guilty of negligent operation. Police said the bus was traveling south on Quarry Street when it left the roadway, crashed into a fire hydrant, a telephone pole, a fence and a stone wall before striking a Nissan Pathfinder. The school bus, which was carrying students in kindergarten through fifth grade, then crashed into the house at 62 Quarry st. Four elementary school-aged children, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the crash. Woods was also treated for minor injuries.Woods also faces a possible $200 fine for negligent operation, a 60-day license suspension and a $105 fine for the marked lanes violations, police said.
