Newbury Street fire causes nearly $1 million in damages
A Newbury Street blaze on Sunday night caused nearly $1 million in damages, according to authorities.
There were no injuries, Boston fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 228 Newbury Street just before 6:30 p.m. The fire was located on the first floor of a four-story brownstone.
The basement of the building houses a restaurant, the first floor is an art gallery, and the upper floors house six one-bedroom apartments, officials said.

Officials said the “heavy fire” extended to the second floor.
The Boston Fire Department said the fire caused $900,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
