Boston man arrested for dealing drugs out of a baby carriage

A Boston man arrested on drug charges Friday was pushing a one-year-old in a baby carriage while dealing cocaine in Dorchester, police said.

Officers with the Neighborhood Drug Control Unit were investigating complaints related to drug activity when they saw a man get out of a gray car and approach a man pushing a baby carriage near Minot and Frederika streets. The officers witnessed the two men allegedly engage in a drug interaction and stopped the man who got out of the car for questioning, according to police.

Police said the man told the officers he was in possession of crack cocaine that he bought from the man pushing the baby carriage.

“While approaching the man pushing the baby carriage, officers observed the individual drop something on the ground,” police said. “Officers promptly retrieved the item which proved to be a folded napkin holding 14 small plastic bags of crack cocaine.”

The drugs in the napkin were identical to those found on the man with the gray vehicle, police said.

Odlaberto Willalona, 48, was arrested and charged with intent to distribute a Class B drug.

Police said the Department of Children and Families was contacted to “conduct a follow-up investigation relative to the child’s safety and well-being.”

Attorney information for Willalona was not immediately available.
