Woman rescued after driving her car into Arlington pond
An elderly woman was rescued Friday afternoon after she drove her car into an Arlington pond, according to Arlington police.
The 68-year-old Medford woman said she was attempting to back into a parking spot on Linwood Circle in her Ford Edge SUV when she drove over a curb and into Spy Pond, police said. She was pulled from the water, alert and conscious, by bystanders who jumped in.

The vehicle is completely submerged in the water.
Police said they are being assisted by Cambridge police to remove the SUV from the pond. As a precaution, the Cambridge Police Dive Team is also responding to make sure the vehicle is unoccupied.
