“I am warmed by the kindness you have shown me,” Unruh wrote. “C U at 6pm.”

Unruh has been a reporter/anchor at the station for 15 years, most recently co-anchoring the 4:30 and 6 p.m. newscasts.

WCVB-TV president and general manager Bill Fine wished Unruh the best in a statement to employees, according to The Boston Globe.

“Andrew and I want to sincerely thank Heather for her many contributions to WCVB, and the Boston community where she often offered her talents as an MC to raise money for some great non-profits,” Fine wrote. “We wish her all the best.”
