National Grid to refund $1.5m to wrongfully charged customers
National Grid will refund more than $1.5 million to thousands of its residential customers who were wrongfully charged a more expensive rate for gas.
Under a negotiated agreement with the Massachusetts attorney general’s office, the utility will issue billing credits to about 4,500 consumers who were incorrectly charged the company’s non- heating rate instead of the less expensive heating rate.
