With no debate and on a voice vote, Kirk P. Figueroa in April was approved by the Boston City Council to become a constable in the city.

The approval permitted Figueroa to join 141 people authorized by law to oversee evictions, make sure that court papers in civil lawsuits are delivered to the proper parties, and, in some, cases take people into custody.
