Man who died in Merrimac crash identified
A Haverhill man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Merrimac Wednesday afternoon has been identified by police. Richard A. Talbot, 74, was driving a 2013 gray Toyota Sienna east on West Main Street when the car exited the road and crash head-on into a tree, police said in a statement.Around 1:52 p.m. Wednesday, police and firefighters responded to the area of 60 West Main St. after the crash was reported.Talbot was the only occupant of the vehicle. Police said he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
