Man dies in Merrimac crash
A Haverhill man died in a single-vehicle crash in Merrimac Wednesday afternoon, police said in a statement.Around 1:52 p.m., police and firefighters responded to the area of 60 West Main St. for a report of a crash.
A 2013 gray Toyota Sienna was traveling on West Main Street when it exited the road and crashed head-on into a tree, according to police.
The vehicle’s operator, a 74-year-old man whose identity has not been released, was the only occupant. Police said he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
