Boston police said officers were on patrol in area of Eerie and Ellington Streets around 1:43 a.m. when they heard gunshots. The officers observed a man, “walking quickly from the area while clutching his waistband, leading officers to believe he was in possession of a weapon,” police said.
The officers chased the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Anthony Tabb, of Brockton, for several blocks and called for support after he entered a private backyard on Fowler Street and couldn’t be found, according to police.
Police said K-9 Duke located Tabb hiding under a ladder, while K-9 Boomer retraced the path and located a loaded handgun.
Tabb will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of trespassing and resisting arrest, police said.
